Weekend Team Leader

Description:

Howmet Aerospace, a leading global provider of advanced engineered solutions for aerospace and transportation industries, is seeking a Weekend Team Leader for its IGT Casting 2nd Shift in Hampton, VA. The role involves coordinating shift activities, ensuring production goals are met, and maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Production (20%): Coordinate workflow to meet production schedules, ensure quantity and quality targets, reduce costs, and maintain equipment via TPM or other methods.

• Leadership (30%): Uphold company values, promote teamwork, maintain relationships with peers and supervisors, and participate in developmental opportunities.

• Communication (15%): Maintain verbal and written communication with team members, supervisors, and customers; conduct shift turnover meetings.

• Operator Skills (5%): Maintain working knowledge of all non-certified departmental operations.

• Scheduling (15%): Align work assignments with shift changes, absences, and equipment downtime; coordinate with Shared Resources and Maintenance.

• Work Systems (5%): Follow work instructions, labor reporting, visual controls, and audit processes.

• Training (5%): Identify training needs, document progress, and train operators using one-on-one or other methods.

• Safety (5%): Monitor workplace safety, maintain clean work areas using 5S, and comply with all safety regulations and attendance policies.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Ability to lawfully access export-controlled items.

• Must provide documentation of identity and employment eligibility in the U.S.
