Away, a renowned travel lifestyle brand known for revolutionizing luggage and travel essentials, is seeking a Senior Manager, Wholesale Accounts Receivable (AR) to join their Accounting team in New York City. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the end-to-end wholesale accounts receivable cycle, ensuring efficient invoicing, collections, cash applications, and chargeback management processes. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Accounting, you will play a strategic role in optimizing AR operations, maintaining strong credit control, and supporting the growth of Away’s expanding wholesale business.
Lead the full-cycle accounts receivable process for the wholesale channel, including invoicing, collections, cash application, and chargeback resolution.
Establish and manage credit limits for new and existing wholesale partners by conducting comprehensive risk assessments to safeguard company assets.
Collaborate closely with the Wholesale, Logistics, and Operations teams to investigate and resolve disputes, deductions, and chargebacks efficiently.
Manage the month-end close for accounts receivable, including balance sheet reconciliations, doubtful account allowances, and aging analysis.
Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and prepare performance and management reports.
Design and enforce internal controls across the order-to-cash process to enhance accuracy and compliance.
Drive process automation and efficiency improvements within Microsoft Dynamics D365, minimizing manual interventions.
Support external audit requirements through documentation and AR schedule preparation.
Possess a BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field.
Bring at least 5 years of hands-on AR management experience, ideally within the wholesale or consumer goods sectors.
Skilled in handling major retail partner accounts and experienced with vendor portals for dispute and chargeback resolutions.
Familiar with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics D365.
Have a robust understanding of US GAAP, internal controls, and credit/collections practices.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
A strong communicator and collaborative team player who can work seamlessly with internal and external stakeholders.

Salary: $135000 - $140000 annually (equivalent to $11250 - $11666 monthly).

This position is office-based at Away’s Soho, NYC location, requiring presence four days per week. Working hours are 9 AM – 6 PM ET, with a flexible and balanced approach to accommodate real-life needs.
