Description:
We’re seeking a seasoned Windows Systems Engineer with a passion for designing and optimizing enterprise-scale infrastructure. This role focuses on solving complex technical challenges, driving automation, and engineering solutions that enhance system reliability, efficiency, and scalability. You will play a key role in architecting and implementing changes across thousands of servers in multiple data centers, supporting a global Windows environment for hosted Fiserv clients. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential as you plan and execute large-scale deployments, troubleshoot advanced system issues, and develop automation frameworks to streamline operations.
What You’ll Do
- Design, implement, and optimize Windows-based infrastructure across thousands of servers in multiple data centers.
- Engineer solutions for OS, storage, networking, and performance challenges in a complex Windows environment.
- Perform capacity planning and resource optimization (CPU, memory, disk) to ensure scalability and high availability.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and frameworks using PowerShell or Python to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
- Integrate and manage third-party software programmatically across large server fleets.
- Collaborate on architecture reviews and infrastructure change planning, ensuring alignment with business and security requirements.
- Utilize tools such as Service Point, SailPoint, Splunk, and App Map for reporting, automation, and change management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for system performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
Experience You’ll Need To Have
- 5+ years of enterprise systems engineering experience with hands-on expertise in: Windows Server OS (2008–2022), Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, Failover Clustering, IIS, SSL Certificates, Perfmon, Wireshark, VMware and vSphere
- 3+ years of experience with scripting and automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Strong understanding of infrastructure design principles, storage, backup, and networking technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent military experience.
