The MCAH Section carries out the administrative and operational components of the MCAH goals and objectives required by State and Federal mandates. MCAH has oversight and implementation responsibility for program guidelines with health providers and community agencies, and subcontractor compliance with the MCAH Scope of Work. MCAH mission is to provide quality care for birthing people, children and their families with a racial equity and trauma informed lens.
SFHN PC’s fourteen (14) health centers/programs, provide high-quality, compassionate care to the City’s children, youth, adults, and elders regardless of immigration status or ability to pay. Services include prenatal care and family planning services; integrated behavioral health and substance use services; dental, gender health, nutrition, pharmacy, and podiatry services; integrative health services such as acupuncture; and care for people experiencing homelessness and refugees/asylum seekers. The SFHN MCAH/PC Physician Champion will have 54% administrative time to work in MCAH Section to provide clinical oversight for women’s and adolescent health services within SFDPH, SFHN and MCAH. This role will also provide clinical care in one or more of the SFHN PC health centers/programs at 30% time. The balance of the position will utilize this direct service experience to champion equitable women’s and adolescent health services within SFHN PC.

Organization | City and County of San FranciscoDesirable A minimum of three years providing family planning and perinatal health care within a primary care setting including to adolescents, including having proficiency in insertion and removal of long-acting reversible contraceptives. Demonstrated commitment to racial equity and reproductive justice, including a minimum of twenty (20) hours in verified relevant training over the past three years. Understanding of the tenets of racial humility, health equity, and reproductive justice Desire to work with low income and multicultural clients, experiencing multiple, chronic medical and psychosocial challenges; At least 1-year practicing in an outpatient setting in the past 2 years; Two (2) years of experience in a community based or outpatient setting providing service to medically underserved populations in a multicultural environment; Family PACT and CPSP billing knowledge and experience; Interest in community primary care, managed care, quality improvement projects, teaching, and willingness to collaborate with other health professions and social service personnel; Proficiency in Chinese, Korean, Spanish, or Russian; Experience providing sexual health services, including in the areas of contraception, pregnancy options counseling, and STD testing and treatment, and perinatal services; Proficiency in IUD and Nexplanon insertion /removal including clinical proctoring; Board Certification in Adolescent Medicine and/or Family planning fellowship completion; Eligibility and desire to obtain hospital birthing privileges; Experience conducting clinical and/or staff training specifically for nursing, clerical front line staff on sexual health and perinatal topics; Demonstrated ability to create and sustain relationships with community partners and institutional stakeholders Experience developing clinical protocols and workflows; Experience working in and/or developing a Trauma-Informed Care and/or Harm Reduction models Training and experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating quality improvement initiatives including Lean Management Systems Excellent organizational skills and analytical abilities Demonstrated high attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Ability to manage multiple complex tasks concurrently Experience with project management Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment Ability to work both independently and cooperatively as part of multidisciplinary team Excellent interpersonal communication skills Conditions of Employment Some positions may require valid Board Certification in medical specialty areas including, but not limited to: Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, etc. If you have valid Board Certification in a medical specialty area, please respond accordingly on the Required Questionnaire.
