Yard Worker

Description:

Builders FirstSource, America’s largest supplier of building materials, value-added components, and building services to the professional market, is seeking a Yard Worker to join its team in Springdale, AR. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start or advance their career in the construction materials industry.

As a Yard Worker, you will be responsible for performing a range of yard activities, including operating a forklift to move materials, assisting customers with loading products, and ensuring the yard remains organized and stocked. This is a safety-sensitive position, and individuals holding a Medical Marijuana Card are not eligible due to operational safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist customers in locating and loading products efficiently and safely.

• Review materials loaded against invoices or requisitions and complete required paperwork accurately.

• Move materials throughout the yard and ensure correct placement and inventory availability.

• Perform regular yard clean-up and maintain a safe, organized environment.

• Adhere to all safety procedures and attend periodic safety meetings.

• Suggest safety improvements where applicable.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.

• Minimum six months of experience performing similar tasks or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• OSHA Forklift Certification required.

• Ability to operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment.

• Strong customer service skills with knowledge of company products and inventory.

• Ability to follow detailed instructions and read invoices/requisitions.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Work is primarily outdoors, exposed to varying weather conditions, noise, and dust.

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 80 pounds occasionally.

• Ability to operate forklift equipment, including climbing in and out of the cab, twisting torso for full visibility, and using arms to operate controls.
