Description:
The Active Picker/Packer located in Rensselaer, IN, is responsible for accurately selecting parts associated with internal or external customer orders to ensure that customers receive the correct parts and quantities in both a timely and cost-efficient manner. This role supports warehouse operations by maintaining accuracy, following safety standards, and working collaboratively within a fast-paced environment. This role is for the first shift, with the hours of 5:30 am - 2:00 pm unless there is overtime, which requires the hours to be 3:30 am - 2:00 pm.
Role Responsibilities:
- Receive and review customer orders to identify item(s) and location codes.
- Pick and count the correct quantity of the correct item from the correct location.
- Enter information into computer systems to ensure accurate inventory counts.
- Move inventory using power industrial equipment (PIE).
- Keep aisles and storage locations clean and organized.
- Pack products correctly, noting requirements for International, VAS, and Purolator shipments.
- Stage pallets and product in designated areas for loading.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations, including harness use, proper hazardous waste handling, lock-out/tag-out, and use of hearing and eye protection.
- Comply with DOT, HAZMAT, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Use designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to stand for 8–12 hours per day.
- Ability to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds.
- Experience operating power industrial equipment.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact constructively with plant employees.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment toward shared goals.
- Flexibility to adapt to change and handle additional tasks as needed.
- Reliable attendance with a consistent and predictable schedule.
