Rush Copley Medical Center, in Aurora, Illinois, part of the Rush University System for Health network of hospitals, invites applications for the position of Inpatient General/Non-Invasive Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider.
About The Department
- Seeking two-full time APPs to join our growing Cardiology team, which includes one dedicated General/Non-Invasive Physician and two Advanced Practice Providers who collaborate closely to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.
- The Department offers early detection and screening programs, an outpatient chest pain center, and advanced cardiovascular techniques. Including a fully equipped diagnostic center that includes nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, and vascular ultrasound.
- As part of Rush Health, Rush Copley partners with Rush University Medical Center to provide its patients with access to specialized services, including cardio-oncology, advanced heart failure, and structural heart disease.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to assess, diagnose, and manage cardiovascular conditions.
- Perform patient evaluations, coordinate care transitions, and participate in quality and safety initiatives.
- Schedule: Average 40 patient-facing hours per week inpatient
- APPs will enhance inpatient access and continuity of care, supporting both acute and long-term management of cardiac patients across the continuum of care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Applicants with previous Advanced Practice Provider experience is preferred but not required. New graduates are welcome to apply.
- APRN Candidates will require Acute Care Certification if doing Inpatient work.
Position Requirements
Nurse Practitioner:
- Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process
- Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position
- Current certification by American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP)
- CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications
Physician Assistant
- Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Physician Assistant/Associate or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process
- Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Associate Program
- Current certification from National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
- CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications
