Aya Locums has an immediate opening for a Locum Family Practice Physician Assistant in Aurora, Colorado, offering competitive hourly compensation between $65 and $80. This is a full-time, 13-week assignment within an outpatient primary care clinic, ideal for a skilled Physician Assistant seeking to provide comprehensive family medicine services while benefiting from the flexibility and rewards of a locum tenens role.
The Physician Assistant will work under the supervision of a licensed physician, delivering high-quality patient care across a wide range of primary care needs. Responsibilities will include conducting patient assessments, obtaining histories, performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, and educating patients on preventive care and health management.
This role is designed for a PA who can work independently within their scope of practice, while collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and other medical staff to ensure seamless and coordinated patient care. The position offers a structured schedule with no on-call duties, making it well-suited for professionals seeking predictable hours and a balanced work-life schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive medical care in a family practice setting under physician supervision.
Conduct patient histories and complete thorough physical examinations.
Order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests to support clinical decision-making.
Develop and implement individualized treatment and management plans.
Prescribe medications and perform authorized medical procedures as permitted by state law.
Counsel and educate patients on preventive healthcare, lifestyle management, and treatment adherence.
Accurately and promptly document all patient encounters and treatment plans in the medical record.
Collaborate effectively with supervising physicians and healthcare teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Stay current with medical advancements and maintain active continuing education.

Education Requirements:
Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) from an accredited PA program.
Licenses & Certifications:
Active and unrestricted PA license in Colorado.
Current national certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Experience:
At least one year of relevant clinical experience in family practice preferred.
Work Schedule:
Shift: Standard 8-hour day shifts.
Timing: 08:00 AM – 05:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
Coverage: Scheduled shifts only, no on-call responsibilities.
Contract Length: 13 weeks
