Welocalize, through its brand Welo Data, is seeking passionate Swahili language contributors to join its growing global AI language talent community. If you have a strong command of Swahili and English, and an interest in shaping the next generation of AI technologies through language-focused tasks, this is your chance to contribute to high-impact, ethical, and diverse AI training initiatives.

This position offers full flexibility — work on your own schedule, from wherever you are. Upon joining the Welo Data Talent Community, selected individuals will be invited to participate in AI projects involving annotation, evaluation, transcription, summarization, prompt generation, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in various AI-enhancing tasks such as:

  • Transcription, summarization, and labeling of audio, text, image, or video data

  • Prompt engineering and generation for large language models (LLMs)

  • Search relevance and ad evaluation

  • Linguistic and cultural quality assessments for AI outputs

  • Creation and verification of language data sets in Swahili

• Collaborate virtually with a global team and follow project-specific guidelines and quality standards

• Use digital tools for remote task execution and communication

Eligibility Criteria:

• Native or near-native fluency in Swahili

• Proficient in English (spoken and written)

• Residing in Tanzania, Kenya, or the Democratic Republic of Congo

• Comfortable using digital collaboration platforms and tools

• Strong attention to detail, self-motivated, and curious by nature

• Willing to work on various types of language tasks

• Previous experience in linguistics, AI training, or localization is a plus (but not mandatory)
