Description:

We are looking for a Staff Android Engineer with 7+ years of experience to join our growing team. This individual will be a key early member of our Android team, taking ownership of critical technical and design decisions for our flagship Android app. We need someone who can hit the ground running, bringing fresh ideas and a high level of technical expertise to our fast-paced, modern development environment.

What you will be doing:

• Design and build an Android app for creating, exploring, and listening to music.
• Create foundational abstractions and libraries for performant, highly interactive media experiences.
• Own feature development from zero to one, and beyond.
• Contribute to design and product decisions across the app.
• Optimize the performance, joy, beauty, and feel of our products, especially focusing on music video creation and streaming, and social media-like features (profiles, followers, notifications).

What we are looking for:

• 7+ years of experience in Android engineering
• Advanced expertise in Jetpack Compose and Kotlin
• Consumer app experience (music, social media, video, creator tools)
• Experience at both large tech and high- growth startups
• Experience building highly interactive media experiences
• Graduated from a top 50 university
• Experience with Exoplayer and Media3
• Ability to bring fresh ideas and up- level the team
• Strong connection to music (listening, exploring, making)
