Application Support Analyst

 

Description:

The Application Support Analyst is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing enterprise applications to ensure they operate reliably and effectively support business operations. This role serves as a key liaison between business users, application vendors, and internal technology teams to resolve issues, coordinate improvements, and ensure applications continue to meet organizational needs.

The analyst helps ensure applications remain stable, well-supported, and aligned with evolving business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact and relationship manager for assigned applications

  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand application usage, requirements, and operational needs

  • Analyze business needs and recommend potential solutions or system improvements

  • Gather, document, and manage application-related requirements and enhancement requests

  • Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with third-party providers supporting applications

  • Oversee application contracts, licensing agreements, and renewal processes

  • Coordinate and support application upgrades, enhancements, and issue resolution

  • Provide user guidance, training, and best practices for supported applications

  • Maintain application documentation, configurations, and operational procedures

  • Collaborate with infrastructure, network, security, and architecture teams as needed

  • Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives including process optimization and automation opportunities

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 3+ years of experience in application support, business systems support, or a related IT role

  • Experience working with business stakeholders and third-party vendors

  • Strong ability to gather and translate business requirements into technical solutions

  • Experience managing application contracts, licensing, or vendor support agreements

  • Solid understanding of application lifecycle management

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
