The Hite Institute of Art & Design at the University of Louisville is seeking applications for an Assistant Professor of Video and Digital Media (Term) to join our department starting in Fall 2024. The successful candidate will teach three courses per semester across all undergraduate and graduate levels and will support the department areas in a shop tech capacity. The Assistant Professor of Video and Digital Media (term) reports to the Chair of the Hite Institute.

Qualifications

  • An MFA from an accredited institution with a focus on video and/or digital image making.
  • An image making practice with a history of exhibitions.
  • Proficiency in both technical techniques/technologies and contemporary theory.
  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary setting and to bring digital image technologies and histories to bear on contemporary social and formal questions across media.
  • Dexterity with Adobe Creative Suite and other digital image platforms.
  • Ability to manage department technology and support department areas as needed.
  • Teaching experience in a university setting is preferred.
  • Professional practice experience is preferred.
