Description:
We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join our litigation team in our Birmingham headquarters. This attorney will manage a diverse caseload, including trucking litigation, premises liability, construction matters, and occasional federal False Claims Act cases. Candidates should have at least 2 years of litigation experience and civil experience is ideal. Trial experience is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of general liability, premises liability, and transportation files.
- Draft discovery, motions, and other legal documents; conduct document review and case triage.
- Participate in depositions and motion practice early in your tenure.
- Engage in trial preparation, with opportunities to attend trials.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and contribute to building a strong team culture.
- Take ownership of files and follow established processes and training protocols.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of litigation experience, with civil experience strongly preferred.
- Criminal experience considered for trial exposure.
- Strong writing and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage a heavy workload and thrive under pressure.
- Confidence to handle depositions and mediations independently.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to team success.
- Self-starter with effective time management skills.
