Associate Therapist

According to Sykes, located in Chicago’s Hyde Park community, is a liberation-based, trauma-informed mental health practice committed to advancing anti-racism, social justice, and healing justice. We provide culturally responsive care rooted in relational-cultural, somatic, and expressive modalities.

About the Role

As an Associate Therapist, you will:

• Provide therapy services (individual, group, and family) in both telehealth and in-person settings

• Use approaches grounded in liberation-based healing, somatic and body-based, trauma-informed care, and relational-cultural therapy

• Work with diverse populations, including LGBTQIA+ individuals and people with access needs.

• Engage in biweekly individual and group supervision/training, with emphasis on:

• Somatic approaches
• Play therapy and Sandplay
• Relational lens and Healing justice frameworks
• Complex trauma

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, Counseling, or a related field

• Licensed or license-eligible in Illinois (LSW, LPC, LCSW, or LCPC)

• Availability to work 10–20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends

• Comfortable working in a hybrid model (in-person + telehealth)

• Commitment to anti-oppression, equity, and culturally responsive care
