Aviation Project Executive

 

Description:

The Aviation Project Executive will oversee aviation construction projects in the Carolinas region, ensuring successful execution from preconstruction through project completion. This senior-level position requires strong leadership, strategic insight, and technical expertise to manage large-scale and complex aviation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple aviation construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to specified quality standards.

  • Establish accurate budgets, prepare GMP/lump sum estimates, and negotiate cost-effective contracts and material purchases.

  • Implement job procedures to ensure timely shop drawing approvals, material delivery, and subcontractor buyouts.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams.

  • Oversee safety planning and enforcement with field superintendents.

  • Supervise and train project teams, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.

  • Lead preconstruction activities including bid preparation, subcontract negotiations, and project planning.

  • Conduct project closeouts, including warranty walks and documentation.

  • Maintain quality control and mitigate potential claims or disputes.

  • Identify new business opportunities and participate in strategic growth initiatives.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent experience.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Deep understanding of scheduling, cost control, procurement, and estimating systems.

  • Ability to solve problems under pressure with a sense of urgency.

  • Drafting and computer proficiency.

  • Knowledge of project accounting and contract law.
