Description:
Benefits Specialist: Confluent Health is a family of 40+ Physical and Occupational Therapy Companies. The Benefits Specialist is responsible for providing guidance and support to employees and managers regarding benefit administration practices, employee Health and Welfare Programs, and employee Retirement Plans. He/she acts as a liaison, providing support to all employees while resolving benefits and data issues through our field Human Resources team, third party administrators, and third party vendors.
Responsibilities
- Administer assigned benefit programs including the day to day activities, audits, testing, and coordinating the interaction between field HR, employee(s), and payroll.
- Process Leaves of Absence according to Confluent Health’s operating procedure.
- Compile and maintain supporting documentation related to job functions via paper or electronically as outlined in procedure documentation.
- Assist payroll with the administration of the Confluent Health Short Term Disability program.
- Research and resolve complex requests from employees and managers regarding benefits and retirement plans. Ensure responses are in compliance with applicable government regulations.
- Comply with department performance standards regarding level of customer service.
- Maintain a “specialist” level understanding of Confluent Health’s benefit plans, trends, program offerings, and regulatory benefit requirements.
- Assist in the new hire benefits orientation as well as other Benefits training required.
- Maintain assigned databases and benefit records.
- Prepare regular benefit reports extracting data from the database.
- Provide technical support, test system functionality, and work with end users to provide system support and troubleshoot system problems.
- Participate on departmental and cross-functional project teams.
- Assist with management and performance review of vendor accountabilities.
- Serve as back up to other members of the benefits team in their absence.
- May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Four (4) or more years of Benefits or Human Resources experience required.
- Intermediate proficiency/advanced skills in utilizing MS Office applications, in particular Excel.
- Able to perform a variety of tasks and change focus quickly as demands change.
- Tolerance of ambiguity.
- Able to manage transitions effectively from task to task and adapt to varying customer needs.
- Able to clearly present information through the spoken word, providing the necessary level of detail even under stressful or demanding conditions
