The Business Development Associate manages the full lifecycle of developing and nurturing customer relationships while coordinating freight services to meet business needs. The role requires working closely with carrier partners to fulfill customer demands.
Identify, qualify, and acquire new customers through calls, referrals, trade shows, and networking
Manage existing customers and grow the customer base
Collaborate with shippers, carriers, and dispatch teams
Provide exceptional customer service and communicate resolutions
Negotiate strategically to ensure profitability and sustainability
Act as main contact for shipment tracking, load planning, and issue resolution
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Persistent drive for prospecting new business
Strong closing and objection-handling skills
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Minimum 1 year brokerage sales experience
Ability to maintain and grow an existing book of business
Requires prolonged periods of sitting and effective communication via phone, email, and in person
Occasional physical movement within work areas
May require extended hours and travel
