Cad Drafter

Description:

Akkodis, Inc. is seeking a skilled AutoCAD Drafter to join its engineering and design team in Aurora, OH. This is a 6-month onsite contract position with a stable and growing employer, offering an excellent opportunity to apply CAD expertise in a collaborative and professional work environment.

The selected candidate will work closely with engineers and project teams to translate 3D designs into detailed 2D drawings, ensuring technical accuracy, compliance with standards, and adherence to product requirements. This role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in CAD software, and the ability to manage drawing revisions and documentation within a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generate accurate and detailed 2D drawings of mechanical components and sub-assemblies using CAD software.

• Translate 3D designs and models into 2D documentation for production and review.

• Ensure all drawings meet engineering standards, product specifications, and quality requirements.

• Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to review, revise, and finalize drawings.

• Maintain accurate records of drawing changes, revisions, and approvals within PLM systems.

• Support engineering projects by providing high-quality drafting support and documentation.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3+ years of CAD drafting experience OR an Associate/Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with at least 1–2 years of CAD experience.

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD or other CAD drafting software.

• Ability to translate engineering concepts and 3D models into precise 2D documentation.

• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and technical drawing skills.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with engineers and other stakeholders.
