Description:

Quality Home Care Michigan is seeking compassionate and reliable Caregivers / Home Care Aides to provide non-medical, in-home support for clients in Oakland, Michigan. This role focuses on assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs), ensuring client safety, comfort, and well-being through dedicated, personalized care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Personal Care: Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, ambulation, transfers, and toileting while maintaining dignity and privacy.

• Companionship: Provide emotional and social support through conversation, hobbies, and recreational activities.

• Meal Preparation: Plan, prepare, and serve meals/snacks per dietary needs; assist with feeding when necessary.

• Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and safe environment, including laundry, dishwashing, and tidying living spaces.

• Health Support: Provide medication reminders, monitor changes in physical or cognitive condition, and report to supervisors.

• Transportation & Errands: Accompany clients to appointments, activities, and errands using personal or client vehicles.

• Documentation: Keep accurate records of services provided, client activities, and observations.

Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.

• Experience: At least 1 year of caregiver experience preferred but not mandatory.

• Certifications: CNA or HHA certification preferred; valid CPR and First Aid certifications preferred (can be obtained within 90 days).

• Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, knowledge of personal hygiene and basic nutrition, ability to maintain confidentiality, follow care plans, and work independently.

Conditions of Employment:

• Must be 18+ years old.

• Authorized to work in the U.S. (Form I-9 required).

• Must pass mandatory examinations.

• Provide proof of recent negative TB test.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

• Ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs, perform physical tasks like kneeling and crouching.

• Work in private homes with varying environments, including exposure to pets, chemicals, or allergens.

• Regular travel within the service area required.
