Child Care Teacher

Description:

Faith Lutheran Church in Pierre, SD is seeking passionate and devoted Child Care Teachers to join their team and contribute to a nurturing and Christ-centered childcare environment. This full-time, on-site role provides a rewarding opportunity for individuals who love working with children and are committed to creating a positive impact through faith, care, and education.

As a daycare teacher, you will be directly involved in the emotional, intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual development of children aged 0 to 12 years. You will help in planning, organizing, and implementing engaging lesson plans while maintaining a loving and supportive Christian atmosphere for children to grow and flourish.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide attentive and nurturing care to children ages 0–12

• Assist in planning and participating in daily children’s activities

• Create and implement weekly lesson plans using provided curriculum

• Foster emotional, intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual development in children

• Promote independence, positive self-image, and a love for learning

• Maintain the cleanliness of daycare facilities, including sanitizing toys and equipment daily

• Uphold a professional demeanor with children, parents, and coworkers

• Comply with all applicable state and federal regulations and Faith Lutheran Church policies

• Attend monthly staff meetings and complete 20 hours of annual in-service training

• Obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certification

• Perform additional duties as required

Qualifications:

• Must pass a background check

• Must be punctual, dependable, and reliable in attendance

• Ability to communicate effectively and follow written/oral instructions

• Strong interpersonal skills for building effective relationships with children and colleagues

• Previous experience in childcare preferred, but not required
