Civil Engineer

Description:

Federal Express Corporation is seeking a skilled Civil Engineer / Construction Specialist to join its Facilities & Material Handling Engineering team in Moon, PA. This role is integral to the design, development, and support of buildings, offices, material handling systems, and sortation equipment for manual and semi-automated facilities. The engineer will also support preventive maintenance initiatives, working closely with vendors and field maintenance teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and support site, building, and material handling systems development.

• Analyze performance data, document processes, and identify improvement opportunities.

• Independently research and analyze technical engineering data, presenting recommendations to management.

• Prepare and monitor cost justifications, expenditure proposals, and ensure spending remains within budget guidelines.

• Create progress reports, meeting minutes, field communication memos, and presentations for senior management.

• Mentor and develop junior engineers in critical skill areas.

• Apply project management fundamentals to oversee facility engineering projects.

• Contribute to Control Self Monitoring (CSM) and Business Control Self-Assessment (BCSA) processes.

• Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams to ensure project success.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.

• Minimum of 4 years’ technical engineering experience.

• Strong knowledge of project management and procurement lifecycles.

• Familiarity with construction concepts, supply chain management, and machine design.

• Preferred expertise in warehouse and industrial facilities, modular systems, fuel islands, EV infrastructure, and site development.

• Proficiency in building systems (HVAC, MEP, structural, stormwater), AutoCAD/BIM, LEED standards, and regulatory codes.

• Strong vendor management, energy optimization, and safety compliance skills.

Compensation and Benefits:
This full-time role offers a monthly salary range of $5,424 to $11,309, with actual pay determined by experience, skills, and job location. Additional compensation such as premiums or bonuses may be available. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement plans, and tuition reimbursement.
