Client Business Manager

 

Description:

Within assigned accounts across the Los Angeles and Orange County market, you will serve as the primary Steelcase representative, owning and growing key client relationships with a focus on increasing share of wallet, expanding influence across stakeholder groups, and protecting long-term business from competitive pressure. You will develop a deep understanding of each client’s business objectives, workplace strategies, real estate initiatives, decision-making structure, and growth opportunities in order to create strategic account plans that drive measurable sales growth.

Partnering closely with Bask and internal Steelcase teams, you will translate account insights into focused growth strategies, coordinated client experiences, and solutions that strengthen Steelcase’s position within major accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Serve as the primary Steelcase representative within assigned accounts, developing growth strategies, and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Build and expand relationships across owned accounts, commercial real estate, and key stakeholder groups throughout Los Angeles and Orange County.
  • Partner with Bask and internal Steelcase teams to drive market growth, increase brand awareness, and deliver exceptional client experiences.
  • Manage sales opportunities through the full lifecycle, including solution development, bidding, budgeting, proposals, and project execution.
  • Strengthen Steelcase's market presence through networking, community engagement, and support of growth initiatives for Bask's DTLA and Newport Beach locations.
  • Maintain accurate pipelines, account plans, and business activity within Salesforce CRM.
  • Leverage Steelcase products, services, research, and workplace insights to position differentiated solutions and achieve business objectives.
     

Minimum Qualifications:
 

  • Contract furniture industry experience within a manufacturer or dealer environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing strategic accounts, including account planning, relationship expansion, pipeline development, and growth within existing client portfolios.
  • Demonstrated experience in new business development with a proactive, growth-oriented mindset
  • Ability to balance external relationship-building with internal execution of sales deliverables, including bids and budgets
  • Strong networking capability and willingness to actively engage in frequent in-market events
  • Alignment with a team-oriented culture and ability to build strong working relationships across organizations
