Description:
The University of Southern California (USC), in partnership with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), is inviting applications for a Clinical Instructor of Neurology in the Pediatric Neuroimmunology and Demyelinating Disorders Program, beginning July 1, 2025. This one-year clinical fellowship offers intensive training in pediatric neuroimmunology, with optional extension based on candidate interest and performance.
CHLA’s Neuroimmunology Program is one of the largest pediatric programs of its kind in the United States, treating rare and complex inflammatory disorders of the brain and spinal cord, including multiple sclerosis (MS), neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD), autoimmune encephalitis (AE), ADEM, MOGAD, and other conditions. The program is nationally recognized and a designated “Partner in MS Care” by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in multiple specialized neuroimmunology clinics alongside distinguished faculty members.
Gain experience in both pediatric and adult neuroimmunology through rotations at CHLA, the Keck Multiple Sclerosis Center, and Los Angeles General Hospital.
Participate in multidisciplinary rotations including rheumatology, neuro-ophthalmology, and immunology.
Engage in inpatient consultation work on a variable basis.
Conduct scholarly research, with access to NIH-funded studies ranging from basic science to clinical trials.
Participate in weekly neuroimmunology case conferences and serve as a mentor to neurology residents.
Complete a scholarly concentration in research, education, quality improvement, or advocacy.
