Sonder Consultants, a global legal search and recruitment firm, is partnering with a top-ranked AmLaw 50 firm seeking two experienced Mid-Level Associates (Class of 2019–2022) to join its Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS) and Structured Finance team.

This is an outstanding opportunity for attorneys with a strong background in CMBS and securitization transactions to join a Band 2 ranked practice known for advising leading issuers, underwriters, servicers, and investors across the commercial real estate (CRE) securitization market.

The firm has played a key role in a significant portion of all CMBS and CRE CLO issuances over the past decades, providing a platform that combines deep industry expertise with exceptional career development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent clients including issuers, underwriters, investors, and servicers in CMBS and CRE securitization transactions.

• Draft, review, and negotiate documentation related to securitizations, structured finance deals, and related commercial real estate finance transactions.

• Provide legal guidance on regulatory, transactional, and compliance aspects of mortgage-backed and asset-backed securities.

• Collaborate closely with cross-office teams to execute complex financial and legal transactions.

• Maintain strong client relationships and contribute to the continuous growth of the firm’s securitization practice.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.

• Admission to practice law in New York or another relevant U.S. jurisdiction.

• 3–6 years of experience (Class of 2019–2022) in securitizations, CMBS, or structured finance at a major law firm.

• Demonstrated understanding of CMBS structures, capital markets, and real estate finance.

• Exceptional analytical, drafting, and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
