Faegre Drinker is actively seeking a talented Corporate Associate to join its well-established Corporate Practice Group in the Des Moines, Iowa office. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients including public and private companies, private equity funds, and financial institutions, supporting them with complex mergers & acquisitions and other corporate transactions.

The ideal candidate will have 3 to 6 years of experience in corporate law, with particular emphasis on mergers & acquisitions, general corporate governance, and commercial transactions. Candidates must have experience leading due diligence teams, overseeing specialists, and drafting key transaction documents. Strong legal drafting skills, excellent writing ability, superior academics, and the capacity to handle multiple assignments with minimal supervision are essential to succeed in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead due diligence efforts and manage multi-disciplinary teams of specialists.

• Draft and negotiate transaction documents, contracts, and related agreements.

• Advise clients on mergers & acquisitions, governance, and commercial law issues.

• Handle multiple projects independently while ensuring timely and accurate delivery.

• Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners to deliver client-focused solutions.

Requirements:

• J.D. from an accredited law school with outstanding academic credentials.

• Admission to the bar (Iowa or eligibility for admission).

• 3–6 years of corporate law experience, particularly in M&A.

• Proven ability to draft and negotiate complex legal documents.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
