Cost Engineer

This GC is urgently hiring a Cost Engineer and their compensation package is compelling:
 

• $70,000-$100,000 depends on experience

The ideal candidate will have experience working on $50M+ projects with agencies such as the NYSDOT, CTDOT, Metro-North, Amtrak, etc.

Position Overview

The Cost Engineer will be responsible for managing project costs and budgets, ensuring that projects are completed within financial constraints while meeting quality and safety standards. This role involves close collaboration with project managers, engineers, and contractors to monitor and control project expenditures and forecasting.

Key Responsibilities
 

• Develop and maintain project cost estimation and budget management processes.
• Analyze project costs and prepare reports for management and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project managers to establish and track project budgets.
• Review and approve contractor invoices and change orders.
• Conduct risk analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Utilize software tools such as Procore and Bluebeam for project tracking and documentation.
• Participate in project meetings and provide insights on cost-related issues.
• Monitor construction activities and ensure compliance with cost management standards.
   

Required Qualifications
 

• 2+ years relevant estimating experience in civil project engineer, assistant project manager, or similar role
   

Preferred Qualifications
 

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field.
• Familiarity with project management software like Procore and Bluebeam.
• Familiarity with utility, concrete, marine construction, highway, and bridge projects.
