RCQ Associates, a specialist in financial markets recruitment, is representing a prestigious private investment firm that is currently looking to hire an Associate for their Asset-Based Finance Private Credit team. This position is focused on Commercial Real Estate (CRE) investments and is based on-site in New York.

This opportunity is ideal for a highly driven Investment Banker or Junior Investment Professional who seeks direct exposure to complex private credit deals and the chance to work closely with the firm's Chief Investment Officer (CIO). The role offers comprehensive deal lifecycle involvement — from origination to execution — in a lean, high-performance investment team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source, underwrite, structure, negotiate, and execute private credit investment opportunities secured by real estate assets.

• Evaluate investment opportunities involving structures such as 1st liens/mortgages, B-notes, mezzanine debt, preferred equity, Note-on-notes, and CMBS.

• Lead the underwriting process including due diligence, financial modeling, risk assessment, and internal investment memo preparation.

• Engage with direct counterparties and advisory firms to source deals.

• Collaborate with senior stakeholders across internal teams and external networks to support transaction execution and portfolio management.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

• Background in investment banking or private credit, ideally with exposure to real estate-backed financing.

• Experience with underwriting real estate debt and equity structures including complex financing instruments.

• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a high-stakes environment.

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

• A strong understanding of real estate markets, structured finance, and private capital deployment strategies.
