Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is hiring a Cyber Security Engineer to support its customer Omni Federal. The position is hybrid, allowing work from home with on-site support at a government facility in Hanover, MD as needed.
As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you are the digital guardian of the systems our warfighters rely on. Essential Job Responsibilities
- Secure Architecture Design: Collaborate with DevSecOps and SRE teams to architect secure-by-design cloud environments (AWS/Azure GovCloud).
- Automated Threat Defense: Develop and implement automated security controls, including SIEM/SOAR integrations and real-time alerting.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct deep-dive technical assessments, penetration testing, and code audits to identify and remediate risks before they reach production.
- RMF & Compliance Automation: Streamline the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process using OpenOSCAL or similar tools to move toward Continuous Authorization to Operate (cATO).
- Zero Trust Implementation: Design and enforce Zero Trust Architectures (ZTA), focusing on identity management, micro-segmentation, and data encryption at rest and in transit.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
- Technical Depth: Hands-on experience with patch implementation, STIGs, and Red Hat automation.
- Network Security: Deep understanding of TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs, and WAFs within a cloud-native context.
- The "Shift-Left" Mindset: Experience integrating security tools directly into GitLab/GitHub CI/CD pipelines.
- Must a possess a US level Secret clearance with the ability to qualify for a US level TS/SCI clearance.
