TechnoGen, Inc., a woman-owned small business and a proven leader in delivering full IT services and software development for over 15 years, is seeking an experienced Data Modeler to join their team in a hybrid contract role based in Boston, MA. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in designing data models and architecture that empower enterprise clients to harness the full potential of their data platforms. This includes everything from conceptual data models to implementation in modern data warehousing and cloud technologies.
Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for various enterprise data environments.
Design and implement RDBMS, AWS Redshift Data Warehouses, operational data stores (ODS), data marts, and data lakes (SQL/NoSQL).
Collaborate with business and IT teams to translate business requirements into scalable and efficient data strategies.
Define and enforce data modeling and design standards, best practices, and governance.
Enhance and optimize data architectures and improve query performance using industry best practices.
Integrate with BI, analytics, and machine learning tools to support enterprise data initiatives.
Support project delivery by ensuring high-quality documentation and proactive risk management.
Assist developers and analysts in understanding the data models, entity relationships, and usage.
Basic Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in:
Data modeling, including design and governance.
Configuring and implementing relational and NoSQL database systems.
Infrastructure and architecture planning for enterprise data platforms.
1 year of domain experience in Life and Annuity Insurance.
Hands-on experience with performance tuning and POC sandboxing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to work independently and take initiative in resolving project-level issues.
Strong understanding of data architecture concepts including naming conventions, data integrity rules, and entity-relationship modeling.
Collaborative mindset to support analysts and developers in utilizing data models effectively.
