Description:
The Data Scientist will lead the development and implementation of advanced analytics and machine learning solutions for Vertiv's next-generation technology research initiatives. Drive data science innovation across power systems, thermal management, and AI/ML applications while collaborating with Research Scientists Domain Leads and Technology Strategy teams to enable breakthrough innovations in critical digital infrastructure.
This role will collaborate with research scientists, engineers, and strategy teams to develop predictive models and data-driven solutions.
This role reports to the Advanced Research and Technology Leader and is based in Delaware, OH.
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement advanced machine learning solutions for complex engineering problems in power systems and thermal management
- Lead the development of AI/ML frameworks supporting next-generation data center infrastructure
- Design and optimize data architecture for research programs across multiple technology domains
- Collaborate with Research Scientists Domain Leads to develop predictive models and analytical solutions
- Drive innovation in data science methodologies for quantum computing and advanced materials research
- Develop complex algorithms for autonomous operations and system optimization
- Provide technical leadership in data science best practices and methodologies
- Mentor junior data engineers and analysts in advanced analytical techniques
- Create sophisticated modeling frameworks for technology evaluation and validation
- Partner with Technology Strategy teams to align data science initiatives with business objectives
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field (PhD preferred).
- Experience with cloud platforms and big data tools (e.g., AWS, Spark, Hadoop).
- Proficiency in Python, R, or similar programming languages.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or applied statistics.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Travel: 10% travel for team collaboration, research partnerships, and customer meetings

- May require extended periods at computer workstation
