Description:

Elevance Systems, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Desktop Support Lead for a full-time, on-site role based in Lafayette, Indiana. This position is ideal for a seasoned IT professional with over a decade of experience in deskside support and local IT operations.

As the Desktop Support Lead, you will be responsible for providing expert-level support in desktop troubleshooting, Microsoft systems, hardware/software maintenance, and network device management. You will serve as a key point of contact for resolving end-user issues, providing technical training, and maintaining IT infrastructure at the site level. This is a highly technical role that demands proactive problem-solving, ownership of issues, and coordination with other IT personnel for escalation and resolution.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide deskside/onsite IT support with over 10 years of hands-on experience

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows XP, Vista, 7, Server 2003/2008)

  • Perform asset management and maintain logs of hardware/software issues

  • Provide comprehensive support for MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking-related issues at the desktop level

  • Handle call logging, issue resolution, and maintain a record of technical incidents

  • Offer user training and technical advice to improve equipment usage

  • Coordinate hardware maintenance and manage desktop IT assets

  • Assist in network security, OS maintenance, and user administration (rights, privileges, accounts)

  • Escalate complex technical issues to the IT Manager when required


Skills and Attributes Required:

  • 10+ years of commercial experience in desktop support

  • Strong hands-on skills with Microsoft OS, Office Suite, and network troubleshooting

  • Knowledge of network equipment/devices and security tools

  • Ability to manage users, permissions, and local IT infrastructure

  • Excellent problem-solving, customer service, and communication skills

  • Capable of working independently and taking ownership of technical issues

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
