Desktop Support Specialist

Description:

We are seeking an experienced Desktop Support Specialist to assist with a Windows 11 upgrade and desktop imaging refresh across our organization. The ideal candidate will bring over 5 years of hands-on IT support experience, with a strong background in operating system upgrades and desktop deployment processes. This position will be a 4 month long contract and will be on-site 5 days per week in Lewisville, Texas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead or support the migration from Windows 10 to Windows 11 across enterprise environments
• Evaluate, update, and troubleshoot desktop imaging processes
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure smooth deployment with minimal user disruption
• Maintain detailed documentation of procedures and configurations
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues as they arise during upgrades
• Provide end-user support during and after the upgrade process

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 5+ years of IT support or desktop engineering experience
• Demonstrated experience with Windows 11 upgrades in enterprise environments
• Strong understanding of desktop imaging and refresh best practices

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience using JIRA for task tracking or IT project management
• Familiarity with Active Directory for user/computer management
