Development Director

Description:

Forward Majority, a leading political organization focused on advancing democracy by accelerating Democratic power in state legislatures, is hiring a Development Director to lead and expand its fundraising operations. This role will oversee donor retention, build a major donor prospect pipeline, and collaborate with leadership teams to execute high-impact fundraising strategies ahead of the mid-term elections.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead day-to-day development operations, managing a Development & Engagement Associate and coordinating with consultants.

• Oversee and execute the organization's finance and fundraising plan.

• Develop and refine fundraising strategies in a dynamic political landscape.

• Manage donor communications, including meetings, virtual briefings, events, and investor updates.

• Prepare and refine pitch materials, proposals, grant reports, and donor outreach plans.

• Support major donor prospecting and digital grassroots fundraising programs.

• Travel to attend donor meetings and fundraising events as required.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in fundraising or development, preferably in political or nonprofit sectors.

• Proven ability to secure five- and six-figure gifts.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including donor materials development.

• Experience in team leadership and project management.

• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Annual salary: $145,000 – $160,000 (commensurate with experience).
