Description:
Forward Majority, a leading political organization focused on advancing democracy by accelerating Democratic power in state legislatures, is hiring a Development Director to lead and expand its fundraising operations. This role will oversee donor retention, build a major donor prospect pipeline, and collaborate with leadership teams to execute high-impact fundraising strategies ahead of the mid-term elections.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead day-to-day development operations, managing a Development & Engagement Associate and coordinating with consultants.
Oversee and execute the organization's finance and fundraising plan.
Develop and refine fundraising strategies in a dynamic political landscape.
Manage donor communications, including meetings, virtual briefings, events, and investor updates.
Prepare and refine pitch materials, proposals, grant reports, and donor outreach plans.
Support major donor prospecting and digital grassroots fundraising programs.
Travel to attend donor meetings and fundraising events as required.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in fundraising or development, preferably in political or nonprofit sectors.
Proven ability to secure five- and six-figure gifts.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including donor materials development.
Experience in team leadership and project management.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Annual salary: $145,000 – $160,000 (commensurate with experience).
