The Director of Accounting Services and Reporting provides leadership, oversight, and supervision in the areas of budget management and execution for the department’s administrative, regulatory, community services and reentry programs, and 11 Minnesota correctional facilities. The position will collaborate closely with the agency’s Legislative Budget Director to implement the biennial and supplemental budget through the development of annual spend plans, including position control. Finally, the Director will develop, implement, and take primary responsibility for new financial systems from conception to completion; oversee the preparation of schedules for the state ACFR, and oversee the development and submission of federal indirect cost proposals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Four (4) years of accounting or financial management experience in a leadership capacity
  • Leadership experience can include experience as a supervisor, lead worker, team lead, project lead, or completion of a State of Minnesota leadership program (e.g., ELI or SLI), or comparable leadership program
  • A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for 18 months of experience, a Bachelor's degree may substitute for one (1) year of experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish working relationships with diverse customers
