SharkNinja, a global product design and technology leader known for its innovative consumer lifestyle solutions under the Shark and Ninja brands, is seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Director of Design & Advanced Development. This role is central to shaping the company’s next generation of groundbreaking products by leading its Front-End Innovation team—a dynamic group of industrial designers, product engineers, and inventors who conceptualize and bring to life future-focused product innovations.

As the Senior Director, you will lead the creative and technical process from early concept exploration to tangible prototypes that influence the company's New Product Development (NPD) pipeline. You will drive a culture of bold, consumer-obsessed innovation while ensuring design feasibility and scalability for mass production.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the global Front-End Innovation team to create breakthrough concepts and design storytelling across multiple product categories.

• Inspire and mentor industrial designers and product engineers to generate prototypes that effectively sell ideas and excite stakeholders.

• Champion a creative studio culture that encourages sketching, prototyping, iterative making, and advanced experimentation.

• Collaborate closely with Mechanical Engineering, R&D, Product Development, and Product Marketing teams to align early-stage concepts with long-term product strategy.

• Present visionary ideas to senior executives and cross-functional partners, fostering alignment and strategic buy-in.

• Apply deep knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes (plastic injection molding, die casting, sheet metal), and DFM/DFA principles to ensure feasibility.

• Utilize consumer insights, market trends, and emerging technologies to guide innovation.

• Foster an environment that encourages creativity, bold thinking, and invention while staying grounded in consumer needs.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Product Design Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related discipline.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in product design, innovation, and leadership in consumer goods.

• Proven track record of delivering category-defining consumer products with successful commercialization.

• Strong leadership experience in developing and managing creative, cross-disciplinary teams.

• Expertise in SolidWorks or Creo, KeyShot, and Adobe Suite.

• Exceptional communication, presentation, and storytelling abilities.

• Passion for making—sketching, modeling, building, or experimenting to bring concepts to life.
