eBay, through its Goldin Auctions division, is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Editor - Collectibles to join its passionate and dynamic team. Goldin Auctions is a leading sports memorabilia auction house, specializing in rare collectibles across multiple categories such as trading cards, game-used memorabilia, signed memorabilia, toys, action figures, watches, video games, coins, and historical documents. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine editorial expertise with a passion for sports, pop culture, and collectibles while contributing to one of the most innovative e-commerce leaders in the world.

As an Editor, you will ensure that all editorial content related to auctions and collectibles maintains the highest standards of clarity, accuracy, and consistency. You will play a key role in reviewing, proofreading, and polishing item descriptions, auction catalogs, marketing materials, and promotional content. The position requires both editorial excellence and subject matter knowledge to craft compelling narratives that enhance the authenticity and marketability of rare and valuable items.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Edit and proofread auction catalogs, item descriptions, titles, and marketing content with precision.

  • Collaborate with editorial and research teams to validate the authenticity and historical significance of items.

  • Maintain consistency in tone, voice, and adherence to AP style and company style guides.

  • Partner with marketing and sales teams to craft compelling narratives around collectibles.

  • Draft and edit press releases and promotional materials for auctions.

  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines, ensuring all content is completed on time prior to auction launches.

  • Conduct interviews with consignors and experts to strengthen item descriptions.

  • Stay current with collectibles industry trends, ensuring editorial content remains engaging and relevant.

  • Proofread at all production stages, checking grammar, punctuation, usage, layout, and factual accuracy.

  • Track editorial progress of lots to ensure readiness for auction launches.

  • Identify opportunities for editorial workflow improvements, including integrating AI tools to boost efficiency.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Proven editorial experience, ideally within the collectibles or auction industry.

  • Strong knowledge of sports history, sports memorabilia, trading cards, coins, and pop culture.

  • Exceptional editing, writing, and proofreading skills with a mastery of AP style.

  • Familiarity with AI tools and willingness to integrate them into editorial workflows.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple teams.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and familiarity with CMS platforms.
