Toyota’s Integrated Vehicle Systems Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated ADS Engineer.

The primary responsibility of this role is to adapt the design of standard ADAS sensors and ECUs for deployment on TMNA responsible vehicles.

Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager of IVS, the person in this role will support the IVS department's objective to deploy ADAS sensors on TMNA responsible vehicles.

What You’ll Be Doing
 

  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the organization to understand the voice of the customer; develop surveys, conduct panel evaluations, analyze data, and prioritize needs.
  • Benchmark competitors to identify system merits/demerits. Conduct vehicle evaluations to understand the driving environment and naturalistic usage scenarios.
  • Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders for:
    • Packaging Sensors/ECUs: Prepare and issue planning drawings, Toyota drawings, approval drawings. Lead drawing reviews and DRBFM.
    • Specification issuance: System/part performance and reliability, wiring harness, parts lists, RDDP packages.
    • Supplier sourcing: Prepare/issue quotation packages, actively participate in the sourcing process.
    • Field issue resolution: Track warranty, join EDER, investigate root cause, develop and implement countermeasures, monitor effectiveness.
  • Evaluate functional and system performance through vehicle testing.
  • Plan and manage the schedule for responsible parts/systems. Monitor cost and mass and provide status reports.

What You Bring
 

  • Experience in ADAS product ownership with program management experience in all stages of vehicle development, including electrical prototype confirmation activities.
  • Experience in ADAS sensor and ECU specification creation with experience in applying ADAS products through all stages of vehicle development, including electrical prototype confirmation activities.
  • Experience in tracking and troubleshooting field quality issues with effective proposal of countermeasures.
  • Proficient in simulated test environments such as HILS or SILS.
  • Proficient in CAN communication protocol and application of CANoe.
  • Experience coding related to function test execution and automation.
  • Hands-on experience with in-vehicle function testing to confirm software logic.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and engage with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficient in planning and scheduling.
  • Education: B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
