Enterprise Imaging Analyst

 

Description:

The Enterprise Imaging Analyst is a senior technical and operational leader responsible for the architecture, optimization, and enterprise oversight of imaging platforms across the MarinHealth system. This role serves as the organization’s highest-level subject matter expert in PACS, CPACS, vendor-neutral archives (VNA), enterprise viewers, imaging workflows, and imaging informatics, ensuring solutions are reliable, scalable, secure, and clinically effective.

Operating with minimal direction, the Principal Analyst leads highly complex, enterprise-wide initiatives, resolves advanced system and architectural issues, and drives the long-term imaging strategy in close partnership with clinical, operational, IT, and infrastructure leaders. This role acts as a strategic bridge between Imaging, IT, and Infrastructure, translating complex technical and clinical requirements into executable solutions while proactively managing risk, dependencies, and executive expectations.

Minimum Qualifications Job Requirements, Prerequisites and Essential Functions: Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Information Management, Biomedical Informatics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a directly related field (required)

Experience

  • Ten (10) or more years of progressively responsible experience in Enterprise Imaging, PACS/CPACS, imaging applications, or clinical imaging informatics within a healthcare environment (required)
  • Demonstrated leadership of large-scale, enterprise imaging implementations, upgrades, or migrations
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred)

Core Competencies & Expertise Enterprise Imaging & Clinical Systems Leadership

  • Serve as the principal technical authority for enterprise imaging platforms, including PACS, CPACS, VNA, enterprise viewers, and integrated imaging solutions
  • Lead Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for complex imaging incidents, including participation in 24/7 on-call rotations as required
  • Independently lead high-risk, high-impact imaging system upgrades, migrations, implementations, and enhancement initiatives
  • Provide deep expertise in imaging workflows across Radiology, Cardiology, and other image-producing specialties
  • Identify and drive optimization opportunities that improve clinical efficiency, diagnostic quality, interoperability, and user experience
  • Partner with vendors and internal IT teams to design and deliver enterprise-grade imaging solutions

Cross-Infrastructure & Technical Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with Infrastructure, Server, Network, Security, Cloud, Platform, Desktop, and Integration teams
  • Ensure imaging systems meet availability, performance, scalability, and cybersecurity requirements
  • Lead architectural planning for high availability, disaster recovery, and failover, including DR testing and readiness
  • Partner with Security teams to ensure compliance with privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory standards
  • Monitor system utilization, storage growth, performance metrics, and capacity trends to proactively plan for future needs

Strategic Leadership & Influence

  • Act as a senior escalation point and mentor for junior and mid-level analysts
  • “Manage up” effectively by providing clear, concise, executive-level communication on risks, tradeoffs, timelines, and resource needs
  • Lead complex, cross-functional discussions—often involving sensitive or high-impact decisions—while aligning technical solutions with organizational priorities
  • Research, evaluate, and present solution options with clear analysis of risks, benefits, costs, and operational impact
  • Influence decisions and outcomes across multiple domains without direct authority

Project & Operational Excellence

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for architectures, workflows, implementations, timelines, dependencies, risks, and deliverables
  • Ensure smooth transitions from project implementation to steady-state operations
  • Establish feedback mechanisms to assess imaging system effectiveness and drive continuous improvement
  • Contribute to enterprise initiatives advancing clinical quality, patient safety, and operational efficiency

  • Expert-level knowledge of enterprise imaging platforms, workflows, and informatics
  • Strong understanding of healthcare IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, virtualization, cloud, networking, and security frameworks
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills in complex clinical and technical environments
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into executive-ready communication
  • Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills
  • High degree of professionalism, accountability, and customer focus in a clinical setting
