Here's how a Field Engineer for PCL Industrial Construction Co. within US PICCo contributes to our team:

Responsibilities
 

  • Participate in the health, safety, and environment (HSE) plan, ensuring all safety procedures are followed.
  • Assist in LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) oversight and regulatory compliance on-site.
  • Support field teams in maintaining safe construction practices and adherence to company safety policies.
  • Provide on-site support for construction operations, assisting superintendents, project managers, and project engineers.
  • Conduct site measurements and quantity take-offs to ensure construction progress is accurately tracked.
  • Assist in scheduling and project updates, ensuring proper alignment with the master schedule.
  • Maintain and update drawings, technical documents, and site records.
  • Participate in daily site walks to verify progress and communicate updates to project leadership.
  • Generate RFIs (Requests for Information) and ensure all documentation is processed in a timely manner.
  • Track and assist in the creation of change orders, material tracking, and procurement processes.
  • Maintain compliance with Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) system while also utilizing client-specific software for project tracking.
  • Ensure all construction records are properly documented and meet quality control standards.
     

Qualifications
 

  • 1-3 years of experience in an operational role within industrial construction.
  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, RFIs, and field documentation.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, blueprints, and site layouts.
  • Hands-on experience with field coordination, material tracking, and subcontractor management.
  • Basic knowledge of Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) and industrial construction methods.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in document control.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in heavy industrial construction, oil & gas, or infrastructure projects. (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with construction scheduling software such as Primavera P6. (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, SAP, or other project management tools. (Preferred)
