Description:
The Field Service Technician 1 is responsible for performing on-site repairs, inspections, and maintenance of building products while ensuring safety, quality, and excellent customer service. This role provides hands-on experience in field operations, process adherence, and customer interaction, with opportunities to develop technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and industry knowledge. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, physically capable, and committed to delivering reliable service in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Field Repairs & Adjustments: Perform basic field repairs, including hardware and glass replacements, operational adjustments, and product inspections.
- Product Evaluations & Inspections: Conduct on-site evaluations to assess product performance and identify repair needs.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling of glass, working at heights, and use of PPE; maintain and inspect safety equipment and first aid kits.
- Vehicle Operation & Maintenance: Operate company vehicles safely, adhering to local laws, and perform routine maintenance to ensure reliability.
- Inventory Management: Manage tools and supplies inventory to maintain proper stock and organization.
- Customer Service & Communication: Communicate effectively with customers to explain repair issues and solutions, ensuring excellent customer service and satisfaction.
- Travel: Travel within assigned territory daily; overnight travel may be required depending on territory.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to complete precise repairs and inspections.
- Excellent customer service skills to build trust and ensure repeat business.
- Physical stamina and dexterity; ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs consistently, climb ladders, and work at heights.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Team-oriented, adaptable, and committed to safety and quality.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- License: Valid driver’s license with ability to successfully clear an MVR check.
- Experience:
- 1–2 years of general construction or building material installation experience preferred.
- 1–2 years of fenestration manufacturing or installation experience preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Basic computer skills (Outlook & CRM).
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.
