Description:

Chevron Renewable Energy Group is currently accepting online applications for the Fuel Plant Operator position near Seneca, IL, through March 28, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. This role involves overseeing biodiesel production operations, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines, and maintaining quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and technical skills to operate production systems efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate the biodiesel master computer system, including process control and data recording.
  • Conduct quality control inspections on oil, biodiesel, glycerine, fatty acid, and water.
  • Perform facility maintenance and housekeeping duties, including equipment inspection, repair, and adjustments.
  • Assist in overseeing biodiesel production processes to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Learn and perform mechanical maintenance of equipment.
  • Monitor and implement quality control improvements in biodiesel operations.
  • Make recommendations for enhancing production efficiency.
  • Ensure plant cleanliness and upkeep for optimal operation.
  • Adhere to safety regulations set by Chevron Renewable Energy Group, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Participate in safety committee activities and lead biodiesel department safety meetings.
  • Maintain housekeeping schedules to ensure a well-kept facility and equipment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 6-12 months of general work experience (previous chemical processing experience preferred).
  • Basic mechanical and electrical skills with general knowledge of computers.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Process Operations Technician Program.

Additional Information:

  • Relocation may be considered within Chevron’s parameters.
  • International assignments are not available.
