Description:
This summer internship is in the Global Foundries IT (GFIT) organization, as a Project Management Office (PMO) IT Business Analyst. This internship offers hands-on experience in IT business analysis and project management. The intern will work within the PMO, analyzing processes, data, and supporting projects.
Essential Responsibilities Include
Business Analysis
- Meet with process owners to document processes, identify similarities/differences, and understand drivers of variation.
- Gather learnings about Global Foundries Information Technologies’ major system landscape, transformation programs driven by IT, and major trends in the company’s diverse lines of business.
- Collect data and analyze IT Project information, looking for averages, trends, and outliers.
- Propose process improvements and efficiencies to improve and enhance PMO processes toward broader project management practices
Capstone Project
- Take ownership of a small project, a data-based proposal on how to make GFIT PMO more efficient.
- Deliver a final presentation or report highlighting contributions and lessons learned.
- Provide a tangible artifact (process documentation, knowledge base entry, or improvement proposal).
Project Coordination
- Participate and contribute to 1 to 2 projects, assisting in building project schedules and tracking milestones
- Maintaining RAID logs and contributing to risk and issues resolution
- Generating or administering project repositories and reporting in tools like ServiceNow, Azure DevOps (ADO), or Planner
- Supporting weekly and monthly status reports or other regular reporting
- Observe the IT workflow (project lifecycle) from development to change control to release
