Description:

The Heritage Museum of Asian Art (HMAA) is currently seeking a part-time Grant Writer to oversee the organization's fundraising endeavors. Reporting to the Executive Director and working collaboratively, the selected candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing HMAA's fundraising initiatives in alignment with its growth trajectory.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Grant Writing 80%:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with foundation and government grant-making entities to secure funding opportunities
  • Research grant opportunities and manage grant application timelines from data collection to submission to reporting
  • Draft the preparation of grant proposals and progress reports.
  • Maintain an updated grants calendar.
  • Maintain an active grant portfolio and strive to be working on minimum of 2 grants per month

Fundraising Strategy 20%:

  • Develop and implement a strategy to sustain a substantial base of annual individual donors.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to craft HMAA's annual fundraising strategy.
  • Provide support to the Executive Director and Board of Directors in executing fundraising activities.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required (Master's degree preferred).
  • Demonstrated success in grant application and acquisition.
  • Proficiency in written and interpersonal communication.
  • Ability to coordinate teams and thrive in a dynamic, interdisciplinary, and fast-paced setting.
  • Strong skills in personnel management.

COMPENSATION

This position entails a dedication of 2-3 days per week, compensated hourly. The specific schedule will be established through discussions with the Executive Director.
