Investment Banking Associate

Description:

Emerald Resource Group is seeking a highly motivated Investment Banking Associate to join a fast-paced, collaborative finance team in Columbus, Ohio. This role is ideal for professionals with a background in investment banking, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), public accounting, or commercial banking who are looking to take the next step in their career or transition into investment banking.

As an Associate, you will be given the opportunity to make an immediate impact—working side-by-side with experienced professionals on transaction execution and client advisory. From deal origination through closing, you'll be directly involved in high-profile M&A engagements, providing financial analysis and strategic insights to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage in all phases of M&A transactions including due diligence, financial modeling, valuation, and client communication.

• Build and analyze financial models to support deal structuring and strategic advisory.

• Prepare pitch books, marketing materials, and transaction documents for client presentations and investor meetings.

• Support senior bankers in managing deal processes and client relationships.

• Assist in market and industry research to support business development initiatives.

• Collaborate in tight-knit deal teams, gaining high visibility and cross-functional exposure from day one.

• Maintain professionalism and discretion while working in a high-energy, client-facing environment.

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in investment banking, M&A, transaction advisory, public accounting, or a similar finance-related field.

• Strong financial modeling and valuation skills, with proficiency in Excel and other financial tools.

• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and analytical skills.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with keen attention to detail.

• Self-starter who thrives both independently and collaboratively.

• Ability to perform in a high-pressure environment while maintaining a flexible and composed approach.

• Must be based in Ohio or have strong personal/professional ties to the region.
