Description:
Leidos is hiring a customer-oriented IT Training and Exercise Planner to support the Air Force National Capital Region (AFNCR) IT Services (ITS) program at Joint Base Andrews (JBA), MD, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, DC, and the Pentagon. The successful candidate will assist the Government staff by integrating and synchronizing wing level military activities into AFDW and HAF mission directives and strategies. The position will focus on developing training and exercise programs and events and contribute to readiness and operating standards by providing qualitative assessments and developing support programs at the direction of organizational leadership.
Primary Tasks
- Developing or refinement of operating concepts and programs at the direction of organizational leadership utilizing the Operational Planning Process to include mission analysis and course of action development.
- Analyze decisions, guidance, mission statements, and commander's intent to develop actionable recommendations.
- Develop training and exercise programs and events and contribute to readiness and operating standards
- Provide analysis, recommendations, qualitative assessments and support for high-priority planning efforts to include maintaining problem estimates, development of briefings and leading or supporting working groups
- Coordinate transition of plans to execution while maintaining situational awareness. Refine as required. Support implementation efforts across the Commands and other stakeholders.
- Integrate and synchronize wing level military activities into AFDW and HAF mission directives and strategies.
- Responsibilities are executed in coordination with 744 CS, 794 CS, and 844 CS government and contract leads requiring a high degree of teamwork, leadership and influence.
- Utilizing experience garnered in the position, assist reviews and recommend updates to existing MOU/MOAs annually to support operational requirements
Basic Qualifications
- BS degree and 8 – 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 – 10 years of prior relevant experience. additional years of experience may be used in lieu of degree.
- Military or Government Experience – Familiarity with defense communication (A6/G6/CIO) concepts and operational security (OPSEC).
- Minimum 3 years of military planning experience with demonstrated proficiency in military organization programs and activities
- Strategic Thinking – Ability to develop and execute long-term communication plans aligned with military objectives.
- Must have a full DoD Secret Clearance at start.
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Skilled with MS Office Suite and development of PowerPoint products
