Description:
Liberty & Freedom Legal Group, LTD, a nationally recognized non-profit civil rights law firm, is hiring for multiple legal roles in its mission to advance education equity, disability justice, and civil rights litigation. Known for its landmark cases, including the only nationwide class action on behalf of over 7 million special education students impacted by COVID-19 school closures (ReOpenClass.com), the firm offers opportunities for high-impact advocacy and systemic change.
Depending on your qualifications and interest, you may join the team as a federal civil rights attorney, litigation attorney, law clerk, or paralegal, working on federal and state litigation, due process hearings, appellate work, and client advocacy.
Key Responsibilities (role-dependent):
Drafting and reviewing pleadings, motions, and legal briefs.
Conducting legal research on complex civil rights and education law issues.
Representing clients in hearings, settlement negotiations, and court proceedings.
Coordinating case documents, scheduling, and trial preparation.
Supporting nationwide litigation efforts on education and disability rights.
Qualifications:
Strong legal writing and research skills.
Admission to relevant State and Federal Bars (for attorney roles).
Demonstrated passion for civil rights, disability rights, and education equity.
Ability to work independently with appropriate supervision.
Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills.
A sense of humor is encouraged.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary: $50,000 – $125,000 annually (commensurate with role and experience).
