Lead Mechanic

Foothills Paving & Maintenance, a respected family-owned paving company based in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, is looking for a skilled Lead Mechanic to oversee the maintenance and repair of its fleet of paving equipment and company vehicles. This position is critical to ensuring operational efficiency and safety across all projects. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, highly experienced in mechanical diagnostics, and capable of leading a small team of junior mechanics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform regular maintenance and complex repairs on paving equipment and vehicles.

• Accurately diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, diesel engine, and electrical system issues.

• Ensure all machinery and vehicles meet safety and operational compliance standards.

• Maintain precise records for all service and repair activities.

• Mentor and assist junior mechanics with training and daily tasks.

• Manage parts inventory and equipment supplies.

• Coordinate repair schedules in collaboration with the operations team.

• Supply and maintain personal hand tools.

Qualifications:

• Proven background as a mechanic, preferably in a paving or construction environment.

• Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.

• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and schematics.

• Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred but not mandatory.

• Must provide own hand tools.

• Ability to work some weekends; minimal after-hours work required.

Schedule:
