Description:

Auctus Agency is seeking a skilled and bilingual Line Chef to join their mobile food truck operation that specializes in authentic Salvadoran and Guatemalan cuisine. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to prepare and serve traditional Central American dishes while working directly with a diverse culinary team and guest chefs. It is a part-time, on-site position in a fast-paced, community-driven environment.

The food truck operates across various locations in the Washington DC metro area, with a base in Langley Park, Maryland, serving approximately 100–200 plates per shift. The ideal candidate must be fluent in Spanish and English, passionate about Latin cuisine, and able to thrive in compact kitchen spaces while upholding food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily Menu Execution: Prepare and cook a rotating menu of Salvadoran and Guatemalan staples such as pupusas, tamales, guisados, rice and beans, and curtido.

  • High-Volume Service: Serve up to 200 plates daily with consistency in portioning and quality.

  • Food Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain rigorous food handling practices including hot/cold holding temperatures, sanitation procedures, and proper disposal systems (greywater, oil/FOG).

  • Chef Collaboration: Work with guest chefs during cultural events, assisting in mise en place, batch prep, and smooth kitchen flow.

  • Team Coordination: Partner with the Kitchen Manager, assist with vehicle/kitchen setup and teardown, and help troubleshoot operational issues on-site.

Candidate Profile:

  • Language: Bilingual – fluent in both Spanish and English (required).

  • Experience: At least 2 years of culinary experience in mobile kitchens, fast-casual food service, or Latin American restaurants.

  • Certification: ServSafe certified or willingness to obtain certification before September 2025.

  • Physical Capability: Able to lift 40+ lbs, navigate tight spaces, and stay calm under pressure.

  • Cultural Appreciation: A passion for Central American cuisine, community service, and hospitality.

Schedule & Duration:

  • Period: September 2025 through January 2026

  • Shifts: 4–5 weekday shifts/week

  • Hours: Approximately 6–8 hours per shift, including setup and cleanup

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hourly Rate: $25–$30/hour depending on experience

  • Free Meals: Provided on shift

  • Travel Stipend: $100/month (if applicable)

  • Performance Bonuses: Available for high-volume days and key events
