Maintenance Technician

Description:

Klein Tools, a dynamic and innovative company known for launching hundreds of new products each year, is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to join its facility in Mansfield, Texas. This role is vital for maintaining the efficiency and safety of manufacturing equipment and facilities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with at least three machine equipment types, including mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, or electrical systems, and will play a key role in minimizing equipment downtime through repairs, preventive maintenance, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
🔧 Maintain and repair manufacturing equipment involving at least three types of machinery
🔍 Diagnose malfunctions, disassemble equipment, estimate repairs, source or fabricate parts, and test completed repairs
🛠️ Perform preventive maintenance, including drive inspection, belt and motor checks, filter changes, lubrication, and cleaning
🏗️ Repair and maintain facility utilities, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and other infrastructure
🔩 Install capital equipment and assist with electrical wiring in a safe and timely manner
🎨 Carry out painting, welding, carpentry, and sheet metal work as required
📋 Manage asset records and maintenance documentation via electronic systems (e.g., EMaint)
📝 Prepare and submit project plans and progress reports
🤝 Supervise contracted work and maintain organized work areas following 6S standards
⚠️ Conduct safety inspections and ensure adherence to safety regulations

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing equipment repair

• Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair at least three types of machinery (mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical)

• Proficiency in welding, fabrication, and equipment installation

• Basic computer and math skills

• Experience with EMaint system (preferred)

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

• Ability to communicate effectively and work well in a team

• Must read, write, and understand basic English

Physical Requirements:

• Regular physical activity including standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 70 lbs

• Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, and work in varying physical conditions

• Visual capabilities required: color vision, close and distance vision, depth perception
