Material Handler

Description:

Rich Products Corporation, a global leader in food manufacturing with over $4 billion in annual sales, is hiring a Material Handler for the 3rd shift at its Crest Hill, IL location. Rich’s offers a family-driven culture and innovative solutions to support foodservice, retail, in-store bakery, and prepared foods sectors.

The Material Handler is responsible for managing the shipping, receiving, movement, and organization of packaging materials, ingredients, and finished goods within the facility. This individual plays a critical role in ensuring that production areas are properly stocked, materials are safely handled, and inventory is accurately tracked.

Key Responsibilities:

• Comply with all safety procedures, including use of PPE and proper handling equipment.

• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and maintain clean, organized workspaces.

• Perform daily forklift inspections (battery, lights, horn, oil, tires, backup alarm, etc.).

• Inspect deliveries, confirm counts against receipts, and document discrepancies.

• Input inventory data into the company’s computer system accurately.

• Rotate stock and organize materials by FIFO (First-In-First-Out) principles.

• Conduct housekeeping duties to maintain cleanliness and safety standards.

• Assist with cycle counts and maintain accurate inventory records.

• Label partial/open ingredient and packaging supplies accordingly.

• Stage ingredients and packaging based on daily production schedules.

• Operate all types of forklift and warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.

• Work in cold storage or freezer environments as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

• Basic computer and mathematics skills.

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

• Minimum one year of material handling experience.

• Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods.

• Must pass annual forklift certification and training.

• Must be comfortable working in very cold environments.

• Must have visual and hearing capabilities to meet safety standards.

Compensation:

• Hourly Rate: $20.80

• Monthly Equivalent: $3,606 (approx.)

• Salary may vary based on experience, skills, and shift differentials.
